Nevis is ready to host the National Basketball League Player Nicolas Claxton and his family for the upcoming few days. He is a member of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets and has deep familial roots in Nevis. The young athlete’s father, also a player in the NBA, was a Nevisian resident. The minister of sports in the Nevis Island Administration, Troy Liburd, welcomed the sportsperson to visit the island of Nevis.
The sportsperson met with the members of the island and inspired the youngsters on the island. The island’s people have expressed their excitement at the arrival of the young sportsman; members of his family accompanying Claxton during the trip will be on the island for a few days.
The Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley, also expressed his delight on welcoming the young NBA player to his home island. While here, he will host a one-day Basketball Camp and speak to children from the various schools around the island. The sports minister, Troy Liburd, shared that Nicolas Claxton has strong Nevisian roots.
The NBA player shared that he was extremely happy to be in Nevis. The premier of Nevis also expressed his pride and delight on the young man’s achievements. He expressed that it was truly an honour to formally welcome the NBA star of Nevisian heritage, Nicolas Claxton to Nevis with his family.
We are truly proud of Nicolas, said the premier, while elaborating that he is the starting center for the Brooklyn Nets and look forward to him leading the Nets to an NBA title. At just 24 this young man has come to host a camp for aspiring basketball players in Nevis today.
The Premier of Nevis shared that some youths from St Kitts will also be present during the basketball camp and interaction session fron the young NBA Player, Nicolas Claxton. The premier added that the young sportsman inspires all our youth. The people of Nevis also expressed their delight on the arrival of the NBA player to Nevis
