Police authorities of the British Virgin Islands have confirmed the demise of a six-year-old child who died from her injuries after being involved in a boat accident on Sunday night. On the other hand, a search investigation is being carried out for an adult female. The female was also aboard the same boat as the 6-year-old.
According to Phil Aspinall, the Operations Manager at the British Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR), the search began on Monday night and resumed on Tuesday morning. The effort has received significant support from many local as well as foreign organisations.
He stated, “The US Coast Guard is en route with a helicopter. For a better phrase, I have got St John Rescue, the police, my boat, and several good Samaritans. Family friends are out there. A lot of people are looking.”
He added that the police authorities are employing all the available resources in the search.
At least ten people, including three minors, were travelling on the boat when the incident occurred. According to a report from Operations manager Phil Aspinall, nine of those boat passengers have been accounted for to date.
Further information about the boat crash is yet to be disclosed by the police authorities of the British Virgin Islands. The police officers have promised to provide a comprehensive report later.

Though it has not been confirmed officially, the boat reportedly travelled at a high pace when it crashed.
Aspinall stated that eyewitnesses had told him that suddenly the vessel went in the air, and everybody aboard went in the air, and suddenly it came back down.
Injuries reported from the incident include people who got a dislocated collar bone, a broken arm, and broken/fractured ribs.
Further investigations are going on for the missing woman to find the cause of the incident.
