Parliamentary Representative for Central Basseterre Marsha T. Henderson has reiterated her commitment to the advancement of the youth. She has also been engaged in several activities to this end including hosting the summer camp for the constituency that she represents.
The Minister of Tourism made these remarks to commemorate the International Youth Day as the constituency was commemorating the day. In this statement, Minister Henderson also spoke about the summer camp that she hosts annually giving the people opportunity to develop with guidance from experts.
“Our young people grow up in different circumstances, but they carry the same hopes: dignity, a real voice, and the opportunity to build a fulfilling life,” the Central Basseterre Labour Branch said in a statement to mark International Youth Day.
“Here in Central Basseterre, I remain committed to creating spaces where our youth can learn, sharpen their talents, express their ideas and grow into confident leaders,” said Ms. Henderson, Minister of Tourism, Labour,
The Parliamentary Representative’s statement pointed to the Future Leaders Summer Camp which has concluded recently. According to the Minister, the xp serves as an expression of that commitment, “investing in our children today so they are ready for tomorrow.”
The Minister talked about the growth of the communities especially the youngsters who have a crucial role to play in the growth of the nation.
“Young people are not only the leaders of the future. They are creators, innovators and partners in shaping our communities right now. Their voices must be heard. Their potential must be nurtured. And they must have a seat at the table when decisions are made about their lives,” the Central Basseterre statement said.
