Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, continues to receive congratulatory messages from across the region, with the latest congratulations coming in from Dr Natalio D. Wheatley, Premier and Minister of Finance of the British Virgin Islands.
In a congratulatory letter that he had addressed to Prime Minister Dr Drew, Premier Wheatley congratulated the fourth Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis on their historic victory in the General Elections hosted by the federation on Friday, August 5, 2022, and his subsequent appointment to the Office of Prime Minister.
In the letter, the Premier congratulated the Prime Minister and his colleagues on behalf of “the government and people of the British Virgin Islands” on his victory in the general elections. Further, he congratulated Prime Minister Drew on his appointment as the Minister of Finance, Minister of National Security, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, Minister of Health, and Minister of Social Security.
Premier Dr Wheatley expressed that he was looking forward to collaborating and partnering with the Government of St Kitts and Nevis so that the two leaders may work together to strengthen the region.
The Premier’s letter further stated that he looks forward to working closely with (the prime minister) on regional and international issues via various international organisations, including the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), Association of Caribbean States (ACS) and United Nations (UN). Further, he hoped to strengthen the bilateral ties between the British Virgin Islands and Saint Kitts and Nevis.”
He concluded his letter by once again wishing that the prime minister and his (labour party) government had a successful term in office.
