The prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis officially unveiled his cabinet on Saturday, August 13, 2022. The swearing-in ceremony was held at Warner Park Cricket stadium in St Kitts.
The prime minister had extended an invitation to the general public of the twin islands to come to the venue of the swearing-in ceremony to witness the inaugural event of the administration.
Prime Minister Drew had also extended an invitation to his predecessor, the former Prime Minister, Dr Timothy Harris.
The PM used the event at the swearing-in ceremony at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium to name his ministerial cabinet and the ministries they would be entrusted with.
PM, Dr Terrance Drew, the minister of finance, took up the responsibilities of National Security, Social Security, Citizenship by investment programme and the health ministry.
Dr Jeoffery Hanley was named the minister of education and youth. He was also entrusted with the responsibilities of deputy prime minister and minister of social development, gender affairs, ageing and disabilities.
Dr Denzil L Doughlas was chosen as the minister of foreign affairs, economic development, international trade, investment and commerce.
Konris Maynard was named the minister of public infrastructure and utilities, transport, information, communication and technology and post.
Garth Wilkin was sworn in as the attorney general and the minister of justice and legal affairs.
Martha Handerson was given the ministries of tourism, civil aviation and urban development.
Joyelle Clarke was given the ministries of sustainable development, climate action, constituency empowerment and environment.
Isalean Phillip was sworn in as the senator.
Finally, Samal Duggins was entrusted with the responsibility of the ministries of agriculture, fisheries, creative economy, entrepreneurship, marine resources and co-operatives.
The citizens and residents of St Kitts and Nevis showed up in large numbers to witness their new government’s inaugural event and the swearing-in ceremony of the cabinet of the prime minister.
