The Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, has formally invited the general public to attend the swearing-in Ceremony of his Cabinet on Saturday, August 13, 2022. The swearing-in ceremony will be held in Warner Park Cricket Stadium at 4:00 PM, where ministerial portfolios will be assigned.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew said they wanted to invite the whole country to come out to see the ceremony where the new government for St Kitts and Nevis will be formulated.
During an interview with a local media house on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, Prime Minister Terrance Drew communicated that a circular making the rounds on social media outlining ministerial assignments is “not reflective of what I have planned.”
In this interview, the fourth prime minister of St Kitts and Nevis revealed his intended plan for the ministry of education. “I can say that people know that Dr Geoffrey Hanley will be the Minister of Education,” he said.
The Prime Minister, who is a doctor by profession, added, “very likely, I can also say that I will take [the Ministry of] Health.”
Apart from the prime minister, five other members of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) were elected during the August 5, 2022, Federal Elections. They are Dr Geoffrey Hanley of Constituency #1, Marsha Henderson from Constituency #2, Konris Maynard of Constituency #3, Samal Duggins from Constituency #4, and Dr Denzil Douglas of constituency #6.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew was sworn in as the federation’s fourth prime minister on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the Government House. He shared snapshots from the ceremony on his social media two days later, on Monday, August 8, 2022.
