St. Kitts and Nevis has honored the people who have contributed to the growth of the country with their work and dedication. Every year, the government chooses a group of men and women who have contributed to the country’s growth in various fields.
The Acting Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis announced the recipients of this year’s national honors during his Independence Day Address.
The Medal of Honor is bestowed upon
- Alistene Clarke-Sutton who has contributed significantly to the field of Public and Civic Service
- Emileta Warner-Paul who has served the communities with her work in the field of Education and Academia
- Dr. Stewart O. Williams was given the Medal of Honor posthumously for the work that he has done in the fields of Public and Civic Service
- Donaly Liburd-Chiverton was bestowed with the honor for her contributions to the field of Law and Justice
- Cecilia Phipps Heyliger was honored for her work in the field of Community Service
- Sonia Merritt-Moore was recognised for the work that she has done in the field of Diaspora Service and Entrepreneurship.
The individuals who were honored with the award on the Companion of the Star of Merit (CSM) during the annual national honors were:
- Pastor Leroy Benjamin Sr. was honored with the Companion of the Star of Merit award for his work within the field of Religion and Spiritual Leadership
- Winston Tucket was recognised for his work in Sports and Religion
- Leonard ‘Lenny’ Lake was appreciated for his contribution to the Sports sector of the country.
- Mary Ann Wigley was given the award in light of her work for the field of Public and Civic Service
- Sandra Davon was recognised at the award ceremony for the work she has done Security and Defence
- Muriel Powell was honored for the contribution made in the field of Education and Academia
- Victor Eddie was recognised for the contributions that he made in the Sports sector of St. Kitts and Nevis
- Violet Petty was honored for the work done in the field of Public and Civic Service; Education and Academia
- Eugenie Condor was appreciated and bestowed with the award in the field of Health and Community Service
- James ‘Mologo’ Kelly was also honored for his contribution to the field of Sports
