The Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley has announced his intention to re-start the Believe In yourself Back-pack programme. Under this programme, he has planned to start the Back-pack initiative for all the primary school children from constituency #9.
This programme aims to provide the primary school-going students of constituency #9 with a school bag and supplies. He has represented constituency #9 in the general assembly for years. He was re-elected for another term in the general elections hosted by the country a week prior.
The welfare initiative started by the Premier of Nevis is expected to benefit several school-going students of his constituency. The ‘back-pack initiative’ is scheduled to begin before the schools of Nevis re-open for another term in September 2022.
The premier of Nevis had to put the back-pack programme on hiatus due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. The Premier of Nevis has re-introduced the programme after a long wait, following which he took to his Facebook account to share the update. \
On his social media, he wrote:
I always try to give back to my constituency. I am delighted that after a hiatus due to Covid, I can re-introduce my BElieveInYOUrself back-pack programme for ALL primary school children in Nevis 9. This time the back-packs will have some basic school supplies too. I expect to distribute well before school re-opens. Thanks be to God.
The premier made this announcement on the occasion of International Youth Day, which is celebrated on August 12, 2022.
