The minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Denzil Douglas, recently shared an update welcoming a delegation of representatives from the neighbouring islands of St. Eustatius. Dr Douglas also shared several glimpses of the welcome ceremony on his social media page. The Delegation arrived at the shores of St Kitts on Friday, February 17, 2023. The Minister of Foreign Affairs shared in his social media post that the visiting Delegation held several important discussions.

Here, it is worth mentioning that Dr Denzil Douglas was unavailable to welcome the Delegation of representatives personally. He is on a trip to the Bahamas for the 44th meeting of the CARICOM heads of state conference.

The government-owned information service SKNIS also shared that the visiting Delegation of Government and private sector officials from St Eustatius held meaningful discussions with local government officials from various sectors of St Kitts and Nevis economy, including tourism, Health and infrastructure.

However, in the absence of the minister of foreign affairs and the minister of Health, which formed the major theme for the discussions undertaken by the delegations, they interacted with the minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson.

Dr Denzil Douglas shared that the Delegation of ministers, Government and private sector officials received their first welcome from the federation of St Kitts and Nevis through the Minister of Tourism Marsha Henderson and her team. The meet and greet between the two parties occurred at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.

Per the reports the minister of Foreign Affairs shared on his social media account, the Delegation of representatives from St Eustatius engaged in several fruitful discussions with the team. The discussions revolved around various matters of national importance.

Further, Dr Denzil Douglas shared that the Delegation from St Eustatius reached St Kitts via the Makana Ferry service, which launched its service to St. Kitts in October of 2022.
