Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew met with youngsters who are travelling to Germany for Vocational Training. One of the two youngsters chosen for the vocational training is a resident of Nevis.
The two youngsters will have the opportunity to participate intensive three-year dual vocational training programme in electronics engineering. The Prime Minister said that the opportunity to study in abroad will help in making sure that the youngsters have all the opportunities that they need.
The youngsters will get the opportunity to learn from state-of-the-art educators and other opportunities. The authorities have shared that the two youngsters will be working with German companies in Sylt and Niebüll
The boys have their employment contracts with the companied signed and confirmed. The 20-year-old boys will be learning in a unique dual education system under which they will be learning on the job and be paid for their work.
The Prime Minister Terrance Drew said that, the 20-year-olds will be pursuing their Bachelor Professional’ qualification as electronics technicians. They will be working in the field of energy and building technology.
The Prime Minister Terrance Drew sat with the youngsters on Wednesday and shared his own experience during his trip to Germany. PM Terrance Drew visited Germany in the year 2020, for a short trip just before COVID.
While on this trip, PM Terrance Drew observed the education sector of the country. He highlighted that in Germany, at the end of the education, students come out ready for the real world.
He noted that he was happy to see that the education systems of Germany make it so that the youngsters are ready to step into the real world right after they complete their education. As such, the Prime Minister was happy to have two youngsters from the federation getting this unparalleled opportunity.
Prime Minister Terrance Drew noted that he was happy to see the youngsters taking their careers and future seriously. The two youngsters also said that they were delighted to have the opportunity to receive vocational training in Germany.
They noted that vocational skills are always needed and that having such skills can work as backup career for several youngsters.
