At a pinpoint and heartfelt gathering at the Transmission and Distribution division, St Kitts Electricity Company Ltd (SKELEC) bid farewell to Mr Ephraim Gumbs. November 6 2023.

Mr Ephraim Gumbs was taken as the disconnect and reconnection metering supervisor for St Kitts Electricity Company Ltd (SKELEC).

He spent an astounding 50 years in this career in the electricity field. He is leaving a legacy of unwavering commitment and invaluable mentorship and leadership.

Ephraim Gumbs started his career in the power sector in 1973, becoming a cornerstone of the St Kitts Electricity Department (SKED).

His early days were marked by inspections and the slapdash of line installation in the New Supply Department, gradually rising through the ranks to assume significant roles as a Metering Inspector and then an Electrical Inspector.

Ephraim Gumbs transitioned seamlessly, taking on the role of a dedicated technician within the Metering department.
His expertise and dedication shined through as he played an instrumental role in maintaining the integrity of the electrical infrastructure.

Ephraim Gumbs will forever be remembered for his role at SKELEC, not only for his technical skills and contributions but also for his exceptional mentoring and leadership skills.

Most employees have extended their appreciation to him as they felt they were fortunate to have him as their leader., benefiting from his knowledge and experience.

His nurturing approach created a culture of excellence and unity within the company.

Ephraim Gumbs chose to embark on retirement, and the SKELEC family, along with his community, came together to celebrate his outstanding achievement in his electrical career.

His contributions have been immeasurable, leaving an indelible mark on the industry. They extend heartfelt wishes for a joyful and fulfilling retirement to Mr Ephraim Gumbs.
