The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, was present at the welcome ceremony of the inaugural flight of Inter Caribbean Airways at the Kayan Lounge in Robert L Bradshaw International Airport. Intercaribbean Airways has started a service of flights from Barbados to St Kitts and Nevis for three days every week, Sunday, Wednesday and Friday.
The first flight was officially welcomed into St Kitts by the members of the Caribbean Tourism Authority, prominent members of the government and non-governmental leaders of the country. Accordingly, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, was accompanied by the other leaders of the political party, including:
- Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Geoffrey Hanley,
- Senior politician and former leader of the SKNLP, Dr Denzil Douglas
- Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation et al., Marsha Henderson
- Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, Attorney General Garth Wilkin.
The members of the St Kitts Tourism Authority were also present at the welcome ceremony. Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew shared some glimpses of the ceremony hosted on March 12, 2023. The attendants graced the venue of the event, the Kayan Lounge, at the Robert L Bradshaw International Airport.
As per the St Kitts Tourism Authority, The ceremony honours the newly established partnership between interCaribbean and St. Kitts. The new partnership between the two entities will tremendously assist with making the destination more accessible within the region than ever before.
Further, the St Kitts Tourism Authority This new offering is set to increase the number of regional travellers to the Federation, which will positively impact the destination’s Summer of Fun activities, including the St Kitts Music Festival, Nevis Mango Festival, Restaurant Week, Culturama, CPL T20, and the newly introduced Kittitian RumMaster Program.
Several social media users applauded the Terrance Drew-led administration as they go on to “Make strides” in favour of the country’s development. The new administration has already taken several significant steps to promote the country as a tourism destination all over the world.
