The prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, attended an interview with Prominent media personality DJ Morrishaw on March 11, 2023. The media representative interacted with the Prime Minister on various aspects of his political journey. The interviewer, DJ Morrishaw, asked the prime Minister in the Zoom Interaction about the history of his political career and his experience as a political party member and leader. The interview also touched on the political party’s victory in the recent elections and several other important matters.

Accordingly, the country’s people doubted his capability to manage the country’s leadership. During the interview, Dr Terrance Drew noted that he entered politics in 2013. After finishing his practising doctor residency, he became a part of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party. Dr Drew contested the elections of the national assembly that same year. However, he was unsuccessful in the attempt. He informed Morrishaw that the unsuccessful first elections did not affect him.
Dr Drew asserted that he likes to take everything positively and learn from mistakes. Regarding the 2013 elections, Prime Minister shared that the supporters of St Kitts ad Nevis, living in the diaspora overseas, could not come to St Kitts and Nevis to cast their vote. Sharing the experience, Prime Minister conveyed that they took the time in the first attempt to learn from their mistakes and repeated that he likes to take the outcomes positively and do better the next time.
Following this, Dr Terrance Drew noted that in the 2020 elections, he made another attempt. However, Dr Terrance Drew could not grab his victory. He said that even though he challenged the verdict of the election results. In 2021, in November, Dr Drew was appointed the leader of the Political Party. Less than a year later, he led his party into the elections.
Dr Drew confessed that it was very quick as a leader of the political party, to take up the responsibility of readying the SKNLP for major elections however, since he had served as the chairman of the party before being chosen the leader, Dr Terrance Drew knew how the party functioned. Additionally, he said that he had a great team to help him through the 2022 elections, which they won with a majority of Assembly seats.
