St Kitts and Nevis has announced a travel advisory for the nationals of Africa as a part of ongoing efforts to safeguard public health. The decision comes in the light of the Ebola Virus Disease outbbreak which is affecting some parts of Africa.
The World Health Organisation has designated Ebola Virus Disease as a Public Health Emergency. They have also announced that some nations of Africa, including Nigeria, are at a high risk for carrying infection.
The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis has been taking precautionary measures to protect the people of the island. The government is closely monitoring the evolving situation with the outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).
They are also improving and strengthening preparedness measures to reduce the risk of Ebola entering the twin island of St. Kitts and Nevis. The Ministry of Health has asserted that in the light of the latest updates from the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, several countries have been identified as high-risk areas for Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) transmission and/or importation.

- Burundi
- Ethiopia
- Kenya
- Rwanda
