The Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew has congratulated the historic 67 member cohort of students from St. Kitts and Nevis who received the Monroe University scholarship. The university has been working with St. Kitts and Nevis on the mandate of providing students from the federation access to tertiary education opportunities.
The Prime Minister is currently in Miami for his rehabilitation and recovery however, even though he is currently away from the federation, he is keeping up to date with the workings of his administration. In the last month, he has received regular updates on the developments which have taken place in the country.
In a social media post, he congratulated the students who received scholarships to pursue their higher education in different fields from Monroe University. In the same post, Dr Drew also highlighted the strength of the partnership between St. Kitts and Nevis government and the University.
He was proud to see that the 67 students had received the opportunity to pursue higher education in the university in 2026. He highlighted that this is the largest cohort of students to receive scholarship since the beginning of the partnership between St. Kitts and Nevis and Monroe University.
The Prime Minister extended his best wishes to the students who will be beginning their tertiary education aided by this scholarship. He called the scholarship an exciting step in the students’ academic journey and urged them to make the most of this opportunity that they have been given.
Dr Drew also applauded the hard work and dedication of students who have received the opportunity. He highlighted the role of the government in this milestone saying that every time the country creates an opportunity for the people to learn and grow, we are investing in the future of St. Kitts and Nevis.
Dr Terrance Drew said that he is looking forward to seeing what the youngsters achieve in their future as they further their education.
