The Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew accompanied by the members of the Federal Cabinet and Governor General of St Kitts and Nevis, honoured young boys from Primary Schools across the island. The youngsters were honoured on the occasion of World Day of the Boy Child with boys of excellence award.
The World Day of the Boy Child is celebrated annually on May 16, However, the boys were honored on May 15, during the Boys of Excellence Awards Ceremony held at the K.E. Clarke Community Centre.
The aim of the initiative is to recognize the students who have demonstrated exemplary character, leadership, and a strong commitment to their schools and communities. The children who were given the honours of the boys of excellence awards Selected from each primary school on the island.
The boys who received the awards were recognised for their consistency in displaying values such as respect, discipline, compassion, empathy, self-control, and kindness.
The Governor General, Dame Marcella Liburd, Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew, and other members of the Federal Cabinet presented the awards to the young boys.
The award ceremony was proof of the fact that the government continues to empower and uplift young males throughout the Federation.
The honourees were recognised for their academic and behavioural excellence, and also their positive attitudes, community involvement, and active participation in extracurricular activities. The Boys of Excellence Awards will help in developing responsible, confident, and community-minded young leaders. The administration believes that who will contribute positively to the future of Saint Kitts and Nevis.

- Shamar Woods, who is a student of the Immaculate Conception Catholic School
- Caleb J. Pemberton, who is a student of the George Moody Stuart School
- Jalani Amari Isaiah Howell, from the Seventh Day Adventist School
- Abraham Garcia Hernandez, student of the Halliday-Smith Primary School
- Josiah Jeffers, studying in Epworth/Maurice Hillier Memorial Junior
- Kyrie Hendrickson, from the Tyrrell Williams Primary
- Nejon Richardson, studying at the Cotton Thomas Comprehensive
- Shyheim Daniel, student from the Sandy Point Primary School
- Jherne Acal Caleb Saunders, student of the Newton Ground Primary School
- Liam Natta Nelson, student at the St. Paul’s Primary School
- Amasiah Maccabbee, studying at the Dieppe Bay Primary School
