The senator with ministerial responsibilities in the Nevis Island Administration, Jahnel Nisbett, attended the “Fish Fry & Fun” activity hosted by the Department of Gender Affairs – Nevis Boy’s Mentorship Programme. Minister Jahnel Nisbett shared the update on the event on her social media account. She also shared some images of the event to go with the update.
Jahnel Nisbett expressed her excitement at being a part of the “Fish Fry & Fun” activity the department of gender affairs hosted as a part of the boys’ mentorship programme. The programme in question is based on five pillars. These Pillars are:

Skills Training
Job Attachment
Community Service
Scholarship Opportunities.
The Boys’ mentorship programme is an opportunity for “building boys’ excellence.” The programme was officially launched by the Junior Minister of Gender Affairs, who visited Nevis for the occasion. Talking about the event hosted by the department of Gender Affairs, Minister Jahnel Nisbett noted that This programme is truly reinvigorating the spirit of ‘it takes a village’. Today I witnessed that village comprised of young and older men, women, Nevisians and Kittitians coming together to support our boys positively.
Meanwhile, the Boys’ mentorship programme is the government’s effort towards the development of the personalities of the boys, mentors and men who will be part of the mentorship programme.
The programme is a joint effort between the ministries of gender affairs of St Kitts and Nevis to deal with gender-based violence in the federation. Accordingly, Jahnel Nisbett thanked the people of St Kitts for coming to the event to support the boys of Nevis under the mentorship programme.
Meanwhile, at the time of the inauguration of the mentorship programme focussed on the boys of Nevis, Isalean Phillip urged the participants to take full advantage of the event and learn valuable lessons from the programme that can be taken to the whole.
