Cammy McElwee, mother of the road accident victim who lost her life in a traffic accident on Friday Late night, May 22, has come forward to express her grief. The incident, which is currently being investigated by the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force has drawn significant attention from the community.
The victim, identified as Veronica McElwee who was a resident of the Half Moon Bay Villas, Frigate Bay, St. Kitts. She lost control over her vehicle between 11:30 PM to 12:00 AM on Friday night after which her vehicle hit the curb, flipped a number of times and landed on its roof.
The victim, stuck inside the vehicle, had been pronounced dead on the scene by the Police Officers and the body was taken for postmortem. The death of the young girl has sent a wave of shock within the communities of St Kitts and Nevis.
According to the mother of the deceased victim, Cammy McElwee, she is “completely devastated and struggling to process this heartbreaking loss.” The victim’s mother took to her social media to express her grief at the loss of her daughter.
Before her passing Veronica McElwee was attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine where she was studying to become a veterinary doctor.
The victim had a dog Ryder and a cat Kendal and was deeply beloved among friends and family. The mother of the victim is waiting for the police formalities and investigations to conclude before she can take her daughter home.
According to the update shared by Cammy McElwee, the process will take a week and she will continue to update the people on the proceedings. The mother of the victim had asked members of the community for prayers for her family as they navigate this difficult time.
