The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew toured the needsmust areas in St Peter’s Community to check on the progress of the new water line. The waterline is being put in place with the aim to bring additional supply from the Basseterre Valley pumping system to St. Peter’s and surrounding communities.
The administration of St Kitts and Nevis has announced that they are proactively working towards addressing the water scarcity in several communities across the region. The Prime Minister, who is the Parliamentary Representative for St Peter’s shared the update on the progress on his social media.

The Water Engineer, Cromwell Williams has shared the details of the work that has been done by the administration of the country. He said that the project forms part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades which will help in improving water resilience during periods of drought and reduced rainfall.
At this time, the working crew is completing stabilisation work on the pipeline by reinforcing sections with concrete. This is being done to make sure that the pipeline can withstand the pressure generated once water begins flowing through the system.
The concrete will dry for approximately two days after which they will put water through the pipes to be taken to the St Peter’s Community and surrounding areas.
The Prime Minister took the platform to urge the people of the country to do their part by conserving water. Dr Drew said, Together, we will build a stronger and more resilient St. Kitts and Nevis.
