Approximately 16000 passengers visited St Kitts and Nevis on Wednesday and Thursday which marked Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve, December 24, the island welcomed 12,678 passengers to their shores. The passengers came on board three cruise ships,
Allure of the Seas was carrying a total of 6,671, Mein Schiff sailed in with 2,829 passengers onboard and the Celebrity Apex carried a massive 3,178 passengers. The Chritsmas day, December 25, also saw multiple ships docked on the shores of St Kitts.
The Marella Discovery carried in 1,977 passengers and Seven Seas Grandeur ccame in with 724. Seaborne Ovation anchored off Carambola with 580 passengers on board. The officials have shared that they saw a very productive two day trend for the christmas days.
The port of St Kitts was buzzing with activity on both thee days as the passenger deboarded and enjoyed the offerings of the island. The people of St Kitts were also celebrating Christmas which the passengers got to share in on.
The officials suggest that the all the passengers gace significant business to the people associated with the country’s tourism ministry. The Taxi drivers,, tour operators, restaurant owners and more reported good business for the people of the island..
The officials have shared that most of the passengers who visited the island during the last two days came inland and spent a day exploring and in St Kitts and Nevis.
The passengers went to popular destinations across the island and experienced the natural beauty and historic prominence of the island. The popular historic sites include the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park.
The people also took time to visit the beaches of the island and bought handmade souvenirs from the small businesses on Port Zante. The christmas week continues to bring prosperity to the nation with another Three ships scheduled to arrive in St kitts on Friday, December 26. The constant occupancy of the island port signals towards a healthy cruise tourism season on the island nation. The officials have shared that this is proof that St Kitts and Nevis is a popular destination for cruise partners to bring their ships and stimulate the economy of the country .
