St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) is delivering on the projects that had been abandoned or were moving at a slow pace in the last decade. The public of St Kitts and Nevis had been asking for updates on some of these projects, like the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium.
Several other issues, like the water Crisis in Cayon Community and St Peter’s had not been under focus of the adminstration for years till PM Drew took office. Prime Minster Dr Terrance Drew took office in August 2022 and in less than two years, the water crisis in Cayon had been eased by constructing a new well.
The well was delivered to the people of Cayon in less than two years of taking office in 2024, something that the previous adminstration had not managed to achieve in seven years of being in office. The Kim Collins Athletic stadium, another project the community had been asking for, for several years, was recently launched after rehabilitation.
The opening of the rehabilitated facility was done on Saturday and has been recognised by international organizations for its compliance with international sports standards. The sports facility has the amenities to support professional training of world class athletes.
The Basseterre High School is also being constructed with all the modern amenities and state of the art Infrastructure. Another project that Prime Minister Drew is delivering for the people, after seeing neglect for several years.
The work and preliminary discussions on all these projects had started within the first few months of the Drew administration.
The previous leadership, which remained in power for seven years starting from 2015, was not able to deliver on any of these projects. In the last three years, St Kitts and Nevis Labour Government has delivered more than 180 houses to families.
The Drew led administration’s promise to deliver affordable home ownership has been bearing fruit for the community. In addition to the homes that have been delivered, the administration is also constructing more than 70 homes and apartment buildings
Since the Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew and his team have taken office, they have been working non stop for the betterment of the people. The Nevis Geothermal Power Plant Project, which had been under discussion for several years, is also being delivered under the Drew administration.
In less than three years, PM Terrance Drew and the SKNLP team have already delivered on several of the promises that they had made at the time of elections. In addition to infrastructure development, St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party administration has also delivered on education and Healthcare in the last three years.
Free tertiary education at CFBC was one of the first promises made by the SKNLP government at the time of taking office. Another initiative which is greatly supporting the families in times of crisis is the Children’s Medical Fund.
This fund supports lifesaving treatment for children without putting the burden of expenses on the families. This fund has already helped several children in accessing lifesaving treatments and continues to help families.
