After their historic, exciting run in the Concacaf Gold Cup, St Kitts and Nevis ambassadors, the Sugar Boyz, recieved a welcome from St Kitts and Nevis Football Association on July 5, 2023, at 1:30 pm. St Kitts and Nevis Football Association staff and authorities took the responsibility to give the heroes a warm welcome and applaud them for their remarkable performance at the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
The authorities hosted the welcome ceremony honouring and recognizing the football team’s efforts and performance. The organizers of the welcome ceremony urged the country’s people to come and join in on our mini-motorcade. The welcome motorcade will start from outside the Kayan Jet lounge through the streets of Basseterre. The motorcade will complete ending at Warner Park.
The motorcade hosted by the Football Association will start at the start at the Robert L Bradshaw, Kayan Jet lounge and run throughout the island of St Kitts. The performance of the Sugar Boyz is highly significant. This is the first time that the team of St Kitts and Nevis qualified for the competition.
Accordingly, President Atiba Harris, Technical Director Lenny Taylor, and Sports Minister Samal Duggins talk about the significance of the success of the Sugar Boyz in qualifying for the Concacaf Gold Cup. Both Harris and Taylor returned to the Federation today from the Gold Cup.
The officials of the St Kitts and Nevis Football Association stated that the magnitude of the history created by the Sugar Boyz is invaluable in exuding the characteristics of our nation. The expressed that they are resilient and determined. Accordingly, St Kitts and Nevis was the smallest sovereign nation to qualify for the Concacaf Gold Cup against all odds.
The moorcade will travel from the following route. Start: Kayan Jet lounge, then they will reach the Wellington Road and the Cayon street. Later, the mini motorcade will travel up until the village school and then the motorcade will make their way to the Bay Road. The final leg of the motorcade will conclude from Fort Street to Warner Park
