The government of Republic of China (Taiwan) has made a generous donation to the Ministries of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources, Cooperatives, Entrepreneurship and Creative Economy. The Government of Republic of China (Taiwan) contributed over US$3 million towards the ministries.
The government of St Kitts and Nevis has expressed their most profound appreciation towards their allies and supporters, The Republic of China (Taiwan), for their gesture.
Ambassador of the Republic of China to St Kitts and Nevis Michael Chau-Hong Lin presented the cheque amounting to USD 3 Millions in a short handing-over ceremony held at the office of the Prime Minister on Wednesday afternoon, December 14, 2022. Samal Duggins and Dr Terrance Drew attended the event.
The Minister responsible for the ministries of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources, Cooperatives, Entrepreneurship and Creative Economy, Samal Duggins, along with the Dr Terrance Drew the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, also extended their most profound gratitude to the nation for the uninterrupted support from the Embassy of Republic of China (Taiwan).
Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries & Marine Resources, Cooperatives, Entrepreneurship & Creative Economy Samal Duggins was present at the handover ceremony. He expressed his gratitude towards the assistance and donation provided by the Taiwan.
He revealed that he was very grateful to the Republic of China (Taiwan) for this generous donation. Further, Minister Samal Duggins assured in his address at the handover ceremony that the ministries will use the amount for the following:
- To support the ongoing annual St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival – Sugar Mas,
- The further development of offices for the Ministries of Agriculture, Sports, Creative Economy, & Small Business/Entrepreneurships
- The development of Conaree Football Club Pavilion
- The construction of Sir Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw Museum.
Dr Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis stated that he has extreme value for the longstanding relations between St Kitts and Nevis and Taiwan. Further, he said that he looks forward to continuing fruitful and transformational collaborations.
