This interview happened days after St Kitts and Nevis’s Prime Minister returned from an official 4-day state trip to Taiwan. In the interview, The two individuals talked at length about the Prime Minister’s trip to the Republic of China (Taiwan).
In the interview, The Prime Minister spoke of the highlights of the trip to ROC Taiwan. First, answering the interviewer’s questions about the trip’s significance, Prime Minister Drew reiterated that the relationship between St Kitts and Nevis and the Republic of China (Taiwan) is as old as the nation’s independence. The two countries will celebrate the 40th anniversary of their relationship.

Regarding the trip’s time frame, Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew stated that he realised the trip occurred quickly into the government’s tenure. However, the prime minister reasoned that he wanted to send out a clear and strong message to the government of ROC Taiwan that they considered the relationship between the two nations critical.
Further, in the interview, Prime Minister Drew also talked about the delegation which accompanied Prime Minister Dr Drew. According to him, the composition of the commission reflected inclusivity. Members consisted of the Premier and Deputy Premier of Nevis, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Denzil Douglas, the Minister of Sustainable Development, Dr Joyelle Clarke and other highly placed government officials.
