Dr Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, and his high-level delegation are on a 4-day state visit to their longest-standing diplomatic ally, the Republic of China (Taiwan). The ROC (Taiwan) government hosted a state banquet in honour of the delegation.
At the state banquet, The Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew, delivered brief remarks, thanking the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for honouring himself and his delegation of ministers and government officials with the event.
On behalf of the delegation, Prime Minister Dr Drew expressed his gratitude to the government for extending an invitation. He stated, “My delegation is truly grateful to you and your government for your invitation to this beautiful country, your warm hospitality, and the excellent arrangements put in place to enable us to have a most productive mission in Taiwan.”
During the address, he also talked about the military parade, which was held in honour of the PM, Dr Terrance Drew and his delegation. He stated that they were all truly inspired by the military parade. “The harmony and precise manoeuvres of the soldiers and military band members were most impressive.” He stated.
Additionally, he committed to cherishing these moments and using them as building blocks for strengthening our bonds of friendship and cooperation.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew addressed the attendants of the State Banquet, reiterating that the federation of St Kitts and Nevis continues to place a high value on its bilateral relationship with the Republic of China (Taiwan). The two nations established diplomatic relations in the year 1983. It is the same year as St Kitts and Nevis’ Independence.
The coming year will mark forty strong years of Bilaterateral relations between the two nations. The Prime Minister further stated that the relationship between the two nations is exceptional. It is based on shared values of good governance, human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
Further, The prime Minister noted that among themselves, the two nations have a rich legacy of cooperation, which we are committed to maintaining and strengthening.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew assured the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) of St Kitts and Nevis’ commitment to strengthen the bonds of friendship that we have worked so hard to build over the past four decades.
The delegation accompanying Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew includes leaders and high-level government officials. Primary among the ministers are Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Denzil Douglas, Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley, Deputy Premier Alexis Jeffers, and Senator Joyelle Clarke, among others.
