The Resident Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Edward Tao has bid farewell to the 23 students who have been awarded scholarships from Taiwan. The students are travelling to the Republic of China (Taiwan) to pursue their higher education overseas.
The Resident Ambassador of Taiwan to St Kitts and Nevis was present at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport to bid the students farewell. The students departed for their educational goals on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
The students are part of the first batch of 23 Taiwan Scholarship recipients as they departed the Federation for Taiwan to pursue their tertiary education. The embassy has shared some images from Robert L Bradshaw International Airport on their social media and extended their best wishes to the students.
The students who have received the scholarships were honoured during a ceremony earlier in the month. They have also been entrusted with the responsibility to make their country proud with their conduct and their achievements during the tenure of their education.
“The Embassy wishes all scholarship recipients a safe journey and great success in their academic endeavours in Taiwan,” the Embassy said in a brief statement.
The officials have shared that the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture Lisa Pistana was also present at the airport to bid farewell to the students. The students will be studying in various different disciplines after they reach Republic of China (Taiwan).
The St Kitts and Nevis authorities have entrusted them with the responsibility to represent the country well during their overseas stay.
The Association of St. Kitts and Nevis Nationals in Taiwan also greeted the news that the new batch was on their way to Taiwan.
“We wish all the best and safe journey as we look forward to welcoming them to Taiwan. See you soon,” the association posted on social media.
