The Embassy of St. Kitts and Nevis to the Republic of China Taiwan commenced the second session of the SKNLOVE Summer Camp at the Nan Shan High School in Zhonghe District, New Taipei City.

The five day camp started yesterday Monday, August 10 and will conclude on Friday 14, 2026. The theme of the camp is “St. Kitts and Nevis’s Sustainable Island State Agenda”. The camp officially began with an opening ceremony where Embassy Ambassador Donya L. Francis and Principal Tsai of Nan High School shared their remarks on the camp with campers.

During the opening ceremony both the Ambassador Francis and Principal Tsai officially welcomed the campers and mentioned the importance of cultural exchange and learning between two nations. Ambassador Francis also introduced the students to St. Kitts and Nevis people, culture, and informed them about the development which is taking place in the country.

On the first day of the camp, attendees were engaged in activities focused on informing about the federation’s history and heritage. The Embassy volunteer Jacinth Hunkins led the session about the Historical sites and Landmarks. During the session Hunkins shared the history of four major landmarks of the federation: The Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, Black Rocks, the Historic Sugar Mills and the Bath Hotel in Nevis.

After the session campers engaged in interactive activities where they together design and build the structure of the mentioned landmarks by themselves along with help of volunteers. According to the Embassy, that structure building activity was creative and interactive which helps the campers to know about St Kitts and Nevis and its heritage more efficiently.

The first day of the camps was managed by the Embassy volunteers named Desmond Maynard, Ezrah Brandy, D’Quani Clarke, Jahmarley Riley and Tyrique Jeffers. All these volunteers made the first day engaging, informative and memorable for the campers.

Additionally, the Embassy also acknowledged the collaboration of the Nan Shan High School for the SKNLOVE Summer Camp. The Embassy further explained that through the camp they are working on informing and educating the Taiwan Public about the history, culture and sustainable development journey of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Notably, Nan Shan High School in Taiwan and Dr. Denzil L. Douglas Secondary School in Saddles Villages are designated as sister schools.
