The Prime minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Terrance Drew has lead the Task Force on Citizen Security meeting which was hosted on on Friday, 20th September, 2024. The meeting served as a way for the members of the community to come together and discuss the future plans for the nation.
The government of St Kitts and Nevis, under Dr Drew has been dedicated to bridging the gap between the people and the administration. They have pledged to include the members of the community more and more in their decision making processes.
The Primee Minister shared the mandate of the most recent meeting of the Task Force on Citizen Security. He highlighted that it is important for the administration to set realistic goals for their fight against violent crime.
PM Drew believes that crime is a public health concern and should be managed accordingly. Ever since the beginning of his term in the office, Prime Minister Terrance Drew has had a proactive stance for dealing with violent crime.
He has maintained that crime can not be seen only through the lens of criminal justice. According to the Minister of National Security, the issue should be addressed with social programs and proactive policies that cater to all parties involved in the solution of the problem.

He announced that the 90-day campaign against Crime and Violence will feature many activities for them. The government wants to ensure that the youth of the nation is not engaging in any illegal or unethical practices.
Prime Minister Terrance Drew acknowledged that youth experience several challenges that can cause them to turn to crime and violence. He encouraged the youngsters to work with them to fight the scourge of violence and crime.
