The people of Nevis hosted a prayer session at the start of the Hurricane season in the Caribbean. The Atlantic Hurricane season starts annually on June 1 and concludes in November. The experts of the hurricane season at the MET Office have predicted that the people of the Caribbean will have a near-normal Caribbean season. According to the reports, the season will be marked by 12 to 17 storms. Out of these, 5 to 7 storms could become hurricanes, and four could become major hurricanes.

The people of Nevis have taken the initiative to host the prayer service for god’s blessings for the upcoming Atlantic Hurricane Season in the Caribbean regions. The event took place in the New Testament Church of God at Bath. The members of the various communities in Nevis made their presence known at the prayer service.

Several members of the political sphere on the island shared their experiences at the prayer services in Nevis. The premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley and Minister Spencer Brand took to their social media account to share some glimpses from the event. Premier Mark Brantley said he felt blessed to attend the annual church service to seek God’s protection during the 2023 hurricane season at the New Testament Church of God at Bath.

Further, the politician sincerely thanked the Christian Council and the Evangelical Association for organizing the joint service. He shared his hope and prayer: May God protect us all during this hurricane season and forever more.

Minister Spencer Brand also shares his experience while attending the event. He mirrored the emotions of the premier of Nevis and expressed that It was such a refreshing and uplifting service of prayer and praise at the Bath Village New Testament Church with Faith-based organizations, Nevis Disaster Management and members of the Pulbic as we invoke God’s protection for the 2023 Hurricane season.
