The Minister of Public Utilities, Konris Maynard, has taken to his social media account to share an update regarding the maintenance in progress in the Asphalt plant. The Public Works Department, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Public Utilities, has been working on the repair works of the asphalt plant.
In line with the same, Minister of Public Utilities Konris Maynard visited the repair facility and interacted with the employees of the Public Works Department. The Minister checked on the situation and provided an update to the people of St Kitts and Nevis regarding the maintenance.
Minister Konris Maynard asserted that the Public Works Department of St Kitts and Nevis is aware of the maintenance issues for many of our roads. Unfortunately, the Asphalt Plant has been out of service for a few weeks now for maintenance. In light of this, the Minister of Public Utilities shared that The PWD went through the procurement process to identify a contractor to repair the plant. As per the update provided by the Minister, identifying the contractor is now complete, and repair works are underway.
Minister Konris Maynard shared a video message on his social media profile to inform the people about the situation. In the video message, the Minister announced the people that the department knows that certain roads of St Kitts need urgent attention. Therefore, he asserted that they are working on sorting the situation out and that the road maintenance will begin shortly after the asphalt plant returns to service.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Public Utilities cautioned the people of St Kitts and Nevis to remain careful as repairs are done, please drive with caution in areas that require work. He added that as soon as the plant is back in service, PWD will come to your area for maintenance.
