Minister of Public Infrastructure and Utilities, Transport, Information, Communication and Technology & Post, Konris Maynard is currently attending the Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2023, organised by the GSM Association in Barcelona, Spain. The minister attended the meeting in compliance with the Digital Transformation agenda of St Kitts and Nevis.
Minister of Information Communication and Technology, Konris Maynard shared some glimpses into the event. he shared that about 80,000 industry experts, researchers, business leaders, executives and Government officials are participating in the conference. The Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2023 is being held under the theme “Velocity: Unleashing tomorrow’s technology – today”.
Minister konris Maynard expressed that he was pleased to join some of my other Caribbean colleague Ministers, Government officials, Regulatory Administrators and Regional ICT Instution leaders from the Caribbean Telecommunication Union, Belize, Bahamas, Jamaica, Antigua & Barbuda, and Trinidad & Tobago.
In his social media update, Minister Maynard shared that this conference is a melting pot of all the new and emerging technologies that we need to be using to improve the delivery of Government and Private sector services. The government of St Kitts and Nevis has remained comitted to introducing the use of technology in their governance initiatives.
Accordingly, the minister Konris Maynard shared that the reality is that more of our people need exposure to these types of resources as there is so much to learn. He asserted in this regard that other developing countries are making the investment and we should too. Consequently, as the new Minister of Information, Communication and Technology, my Ministry will lead a mobilizing effort to get more industry practioners from St Kitts and Nevis.
Minister of Information, Communication and Technnology shared that the the industry stakeholders coming from both the Public and Private sector, to join in valuable conferences like these as we build our capacity needed to fulfil our Digital Transformation mandate.
