St Kitts and Nevis celebrated their second annual Christmas festival and tree lightening on December 8, 2024 at Conaree.
The festival was celebrated by the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr. Terrance Drew in an effort to bring together the community and celebrate the holiday.
The Prime Minister also encouraged the locals to participate in the festival by sharing a post on his official Facebook account.
The festival was celebrated with fun games, music, dance and entertainment along with the tree lightening, the main event of the festival.
Moreover, local artists were called to entertain the residents which helped popularize their songs among the residents of the small island.
It also helped boost local businesses who set their stalls during the festivals allowing people to play fun games and eat delicious food while buying gifts for families and friends.
The festival was celebrated as one of the event under the ongoing Sugar Mas Carnival, the most awaited celebration of the entire year.

It is to be noted, Sugar Mas is celebrated between the months November and January with events like parade day on New Year and the last celebratory day being second of January.
The festival celebrates their culture by bringing together the locals in bright costumes, delicious food, fun games, and music and dance.
The carnival is fun-packed with 6 weeks of non-stop partying and is their favorite way of welcoming New Year.
During the carnival, dance parties and parades take place that are heavily crowded by locals and travelers, celebrating the holiday like no other.
Moreover, the holiday acts as a great way to learn the island nation’s both traditional and modern ways of celebration with events like masquerades showing the traditional way and parades and rave showing the modern-day celebration.
