Basseterre – The year 2024 proved to be a year full of activity for St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) as the association went on to organize scouting combine, securing sponsorships, hosting Concacaf U-20 Qualifiers and launching FIFA Football for Schools.
Led by president Atiba Harris, SKNFA, organized a Scouting Combine in which a large number of universities both from within and outside the nation along with professional football clubs participated.
This event proved to be a huge success as it brought together top football players from the region on a single platform. This event also helped the local footballers mingle with some of the best football players of the region which helped them gain confidence and improve upon their skills.
The football association also secured a multi year sponsorship from the National Bank group of companies which has helped SKNFA improve upon its financial standing.
President Atiba Harris said that the sponsorships secured by SKNFA will help the football body to upgrade various football grounds in St Kitts and Nevis. He said that with the funds that have been made available to the association they will be organizing new programs to promote football amongst the young children of the nation. Overall this will help the association to develop the sports in St Kitts and Nevis.
Events hosted by SKNFA
Concacaf U-20 Qualifiers during which international players descended on the island Nation to participate in the pre tournament competitions. The president said that this helped SKNFA in improving its International standing.
During these pre tournament matches even the young football players of St Kitts and Nevis got a chance to learn from the best players of the region. During the qualifier SKNFA hosted two groups.
In order to tap the young talent of the nation the association also launched FIFA Football for Schools. To capture the young football talent which is available in the nation so that they can be groomed to become the football players of the future.
Under this program the selected children will undergo Faisal training for football as well as life skills.
Reflecting on the year gone by, Atiba Harris, president of the association stated that he has made an earnest effort to promote the culture of football in St Kitts and Nevis. He said that the focus was now on further promoting SKNFA as one of the best organizations which is involved in promoting football in the region.
