Nevis Island Administration is shooting its seventh feature film in collaboration with MSR Media. The Premier of Nevis and the head of the Nevis Island Administration took to their Facebook account to share the update regarding the same.

Through his social media, Premier Mark Brantley expressed his profound pleasure and stated that Nevis is working efficiently to pave the path of development. Under the administration of the CCM-led NIA, various sectors are experiencing progress, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic.

He added that the Nevis Island Administration is making every possible effort to diversify the country’s economy, which is why during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, Premier Brantley negotiated with film-makers and the MSR Media to come to Nevis and help them to start a movie industry in the island.

Premier Mark Brantley said in his Facebook post, “At the end of 2020, during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, your government negotiated with film-makers MSR Media to come to Nevis and to help us start a movie industry here.”

He added that although their government had difficulties throughout the process as naysayers laughed, the leaders responsible for the island administration always remained in high spirits and started working on their goal.

“This was new and innovative thinking as we sought to diversify the Nevis economy. The naysayers laughed and said it could not be done. But the true patriots who believe in Nevis and its potential rolled up their sleeves and went to work,“ Premier Brantley said further in his post.

He pridefully shared that now, almost two years later, the seventh feature film was being shot on Nevis island. While sharing a candid glimpse from the shooting, he added that the photograph meant more to him than just that.

He wrote that the shooting of this feature film meant that the local youngsters of the island would get a chance to learn much from this experience. He said the local population would get exposure, learning opportunities and employment opportunities.

Finally, Premier Brantley said that the picture (that he had shared on his Facebook account) spoke eloquently that something good is happening in Nevis
