St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew attended the ceremony hosted by the Taiwanese Embassy on Friday, held to present the scholarships to 16 students across St Kitts and Nevis for their higher education in the Republic of China (Taiwan).
The Embassy of Taiwan hosted this significant ceremony to celebrate the excellence of these sixteen students who earned the scholarships to pursue tertiary education in the Republic of China (Taiwan).
Notably, the Prime Minister extended his sincere gratitude to the Government of Taiwan for their support and for extending scholarships, this being the highest number that the nation has received so far.
PM Drew also thanked the MOFA (Minister of Foreign Affairs) and IDFC (International Cooperation and Development Fund) scholarships that have been provided in St Kitts and Nevis.
PM Dr Terrance Drew was joined by several other key delegates to the ceremony, including the Deputy Prime Minister Geoffrey Hanley and the Taiwan Ambassador Michael Lin. The ministers shared their opinions and congratulated the scholarship winners encouraging them for their studies ahead.
As the students embark on the journey to the Republic of China (Taiwan), these sixteen young minds also represent St Kitts and Nevis as an Ambassador. The nation expects these students to make them proud with their future accomplishments.
The Taiwanese Embassy also extended their warm wishes and good luck to the students. The Federation noted, “Good luck with your studies, and we know you’ll make the most of this incredible opportunity.”
Significantly, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis stated that he encourages all the awardees to cherish this opportunity and work hard. He also asked them to use their knowledge and skills that they will gain during their education and experience in Taiwan to contribute to the development of the Federation.
