The Minister of Agriculture Samal Duggins shared the information regarding the redevelopment of Kim Collins Athletics Stadium through his official Facebook page and noted that the construction is going on in a proper systematic way after the delay which was caused by the continuous rainfall during the past few months.
He further mentioned the benefits available to the agricultural sector of the nation, due to the rainfall which in contrast had negatively impacted the construction timeliness of the stadium. However, the sports department continued to make efforts, aiming to finish the rehabilitation work effectively and efficiently.
According to the update, the stadium has undergone some major renovations, including new seating, roof improvements, upgraded bathroom facilities, and a fresh coat of paint. He further added that the track is in its last stage, with only the final layer left to be laid.
Furthermore, the construction of the stadium despite the challenges, showcases the government’s commitment in providing best services for the athletes of the nation.
Minister Duggins stated that the government remains committed to delivering a top-tier facility that meets the needs of their athletes and the entire sporting community.

Renovations at Kim Collins Stadium
The project is managed by the Public Works Department of the Ministry of Sports of St Kitts and Nevis.
The renovations at the stadium included new roofing, new seating arrangements, door and wall replacements, bathroom renovations, roof tile replacement, steel framing renovations, electrical overhaul, plumbing renovations, internal & external painting, window replacement, and leak repair.
The redevelopment of the stadium has been divided into two phases – installing a new synthetic track, and stadium rehabilitation for a better experience.
