Shawn K Richards, leader of the People’s Action Movement, took to his Facebook account to inform the residents and citizens about the GET Relief plan, ahead of the General Elections, on Sunday, July 31, 2022, .

In his Facebook post, the leader of PAM promised, “Within 30 days of taking office, The PAM/CCM government would institute St Kitts and Nevis’ GET Relief plan.

GET relief stands for Gasoline, Energy and Telecommunications Relief Plan.

The plan puts forth a bold concept and plans to take immediate actions to help individuals, families, and businesses GET relief through the PAM/CCM One Movement government’s aggressive plan to freeze gas prices and reduce energy and telecommunications costs.

This plan will also enhance the standard of living of the citizens of this Federation.

The PAM and CCM regime will freeze GASOLINE prices at $14.00 EC per imperial gallon. This is a rollback of $4.00 from its current price of $18.00.

PAM and CCM’ Government’s GET Relief plan will ensure that the low-income households that qualify be issued a one-time grant from Government which will wipe out the current amount they owe to SKELEC and NEVLEC.

In addition, these households will receive an ongoing stimulus payment of $100 per month that would go toward their electricity bill.

The PAM and CCM’s “One Movement Government” will collaborate within the region to address the issues prevalent in telecommunications.

Shawn Richards added that the PAM and CCM government had initiated discussions with telecommunications regulators within the region of St Kitts and Nevis. He assured the people that we are all thinking the same way on the urgent need to address four key areas:

1. Universal Service.
2. Lower Cell Phone Rates.
3. Elimination of Regional Roaming.
4. Local Number Portability.

Finally, the People’s Action Movement leader reminded and urged the citizens to vote for the One Movement Government of PAM and CCM in the upcoming elections on Aug 5, 2022, for the implementation of the GET relief plan.
