People’s Action Movement and Concerned Citizens Movement, PAM and CCM officially unveiled the One Movement Manifesto for the upcoming General Election. The joint movement of the two political parties unveiled the manifesto on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.
At the launch, The leaders of the two political parties outlined the various fields of priority, including creating jobs, fighting poverty, creating better international relationships, and many more.
Further, in the One Movement Manifesto, PAM and CCM outlined a plan for the first 100 days of their government:
In the One Movement Manifesto, they promised to launch the $100 MILLION-DOLLAR DREAM FUND, designed to power Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development.
This fund is meant to inject seed money into various approved business ideas of up to EC $200,000.
One Movement Manifesto promise to create 5,000 New Jobs under our JOBS NOW programme over the next five years.
The JOBS NOW program strives to reduce unemployment by 50%. The political party plans to target manufacturing, farming, infrastructure, and the service industry to generate sustainable employment opportunities.
Additionally, the One Movement Manifesto includes the introduction of the Housing Revolution, which will see the development of 3,000 HOUSING SOLUTIONS distributed fairly across both the islands in the next five years.
Assuming an average of four persons occupy a single household in St. Kitts and Nevis, this housing solution will positively touch 12,000 residents.
Additionally, the joint movement will make tertiary education more accessible through an increased number and access to scholarships for eligible applicants.
Upon their election as the state’s representative, The joint movement plans to move toward a Republic. The Head of State would then come from St. Kitts & Nevis and will replace Queen Elizabeth II.
They plan to establish a Constituency Development Fund, so that money can be made available to address community needs promptly, devoid of the typical bureaucracy.
They added that they plan to build a new Hospital, improve existing facilities, and establish free healthcare through National Health Insurance.
Further, they plan to ensure that the Poverty Alleviation Program (PAP), Skills Training Empowerment Program (STEP), and the “PEACE Program” help those who are most in need.
The joint movement will allocate $50 million to further develop the sports, entertainment, and creative industries of St Kitts and Nevis.
Additionally, they will develop a pension plan to ensure that all government workers qualify for post-employment financial support and will also negotiate with private sector employers to create same. Also, minimum wage will be increased to improve the overall standard of living of our people.
The One Movement Manifesto was centered around the theme of putting people first. The parties have prioritized the citizens and Resisdents of St Kitts and Nevis and committing to their developement and prosperity.
