St. Kitts and Nevis has honored 23 outstanding girls from 23 primary schools across the island public and private primary schools. The young girls were appreciated for their accomplishment.
The officials have shared that the ceremony honoring the 23 young girls was hosted on the eve of International Day of the Girl Child. Annually, the event is commemorated on October 11, 2026. The officials have shared that the event was hosted with the aim of bringing to light the achievements of the young girls across the island.
The authorities acknowledged the young girls for their academic successes, the positive character and social excellence. The officials have shared that the annual Girls of Excellence Awards Ceremony was held at the K. Earle Clarke Community Centre in Newtown on Thursday.
The officials highlighted the importance of empowering the students, creating opportunities and encouraging them to thrive in their respective careers.
The event was attended by the Governor General of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dame Marcella Liburd, Acting Prime Minister Dr Geoffrey Hanley and Junior Minister Isalean Phillip among other officers. The officials have shared the names of the twenty three girls who were honored during the 2026 edition of the event include: Denylah Matthew – Sandy Point Primary School
