The St Kitts department of youth empowerment has arranged the first beach cleanup for 2023. The event was hosted at Keys beach on Saturday, February 25, 2023. The people of St Kitts and Nevis were invited to participate in the cleaning effort at the Beach.
Residents of St Kitts and Nevis, especially the residents of the neighbouring areas of keys beach, joined the initiative of the cleanup exercise on Saturday. The initiative was aimed at increasing awareness regarding the importance of maintaining cleanliness in the public areas of St Kitts and Nevis
The Department has recently taken to his social media account to share its gratitude to the people of the community who registered their presence at the efforts of the Beach Cleanup at Keys Beach. The St Kitts Department of Youth Empowerment wrote:
Thank you to everyone, including our youth, who joined in the efforts of the Beach Cleanup at Keys Beach.Thank you for joining our efforts to keep St.Kitts-Nevis clean, one Beach at a time.
The St Kitts Department of Youth Empowerment shared some names of the prominent participants of the initiative, including the Cayon Explorers, St Mary’s & Christ Church, Anglican Church youths, MAB Environmental Adventure Youth Club, Department of Marines, St Kitts Sea Turtle Monitoring Network and Clean Seas.
The stakeholders of the beach cleanup initiative engaged in cleaning the Beach along with several other community members. The Department of Youth Empowerment shared several images from the cleanup drive on keys beach. The initiative was well received among the members of the community. One of the social media users from St Kitts and Nevis reached out to the Department’s official social media page to enquire how they can get involved in the project.
