The Ministry of Youth Empowerment in the government of St Kitts and Nevis is trying to find top musicians from St Kitts and Nevis. The ongoing search includes students between the ages of 14-18. These students will compete in the International Youth Cultural Exchange Program in July.
As per the ministry of Youth Empowerment of St Kitts and Nevis, they will choose the two students who will contest the programme. A leading summer school of fine arts in North America, the International Music Camp organization will organize the Youth Cultural Exchange. The summer school is located on the border between the United States and Canada at International Peace Garden.
According to the reports, the camp aims to encourage the usage of music as a universal language. This gesture aims to promote a greater understanding among youth across the globe. During the camp, more than 150 teachers and guest conductors will conduct master classes, private lessons, music theory and full ensemble rehearsals.
Participation in the International Youth Cultural Exchange Program will allow the two participant students of St Kitts and Nevis to gain in-depth knowledge in Piano, Jazz Band, Band, Choir, Musical Theatre, Vocal Jazz, Guitar and Orchestra.
Meanwhile, Youth Officer Suelika Creque believes this opportunity is for outstanding students in the field of music. She further explained that the interested students would undergo an interview to get selected.
She directed interested students to email their names and contact information to youth@gov.skn. The subject line must be “International Music Camp”.
The Ministry of Youth Empowerment has informed the people that the deadline for submitting the names is March 1, 2023. Further, the most important prerequisite for participation is that the students must have a US Visa and travel availability for July 2023.
The Ministry of Youth Empowerment is the only organization with authority to select the two final candidates for the Cultural Exchange Program.
