Dr Terrance Drew has congratulated all the residents and citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis and people across the region who participated in the country’s retail Bond programme. The government has received a significant response from the members of the general public.

The Financial Secretary of St. Kitts and Nevis Ministry of Finance has announced that the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis’ inaugural Household and Non-Governmental Organisation Retail Bond has been fully subscribed at EC$10 million. The Ministry of Finance received strong response from the members of the general public and investors came from both within the federation and the Eastern Caribbean region.

The Prime Minister thanked the people who made the initiative a resounding success by participating with enthusiasm. The retail Bond was designed to provide the people with opportunities for investment and inculcating a culture of savings.

The Ministry has announced that the initiative has turned the conversation in favor of investing and wealth creation for individuals and small businesses.

This demographic of people were not given the opportunity to engage in investment in this way previously. Which is why, the success of the retail Bond programme is a very important indicator.

The authorities maintain that the initiative allows the people of the country to participate directly in the development of the country. Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew said that he was happy to see several people taking interest in national development.

The investors are showing that they have placed significant confidence in the capacity of St. Kitts and Nevis as a nation and an economy.

Dr Drew extended his sincere gratitude to the people of the country for the faith that they are placing within St. Kitts.
