The construction of the Joshua Obadiah Williams Primary School has reached the 80% mark. The government of St Kitts and Nevis has shared that the reconstruction of the School in Molineux is advancing steadily.
This update from the administration marks a very important step forward in restoring and modernizing the school. The Joshua Obadiah Williams Primary School is one of the Federation’s long-standing educational institutions.
Significant parts of the school property were destroyed in a fire in March 2022. The accident led to many students from the school to be displaced and relocated after the tragic fire.
The Government of St Kitts and Nevis decided after much deliberation that they will not just rebuild the school, but they will transform it to meet the modern standards. According to the most recent update shared by the SKNIS, which is the St Kitts and Nevis government’s official information source, that transformation is now near completion.
The images from the school have been appearing on various social media pages since February 2026. The local population of St Kitts, especially in Molineux have shared images from the progress.
On Tuesday, an official update on the progress was made for the general public of the federation. According to this update, the school reconstruction is now approximately 80 percent complete.
The administration of the country has shared that the new facility represents a major upgrade for the school. The school which was previously housed in 8,415 square feet has now been expanded to 25,600 square feet.
The school will also have modern classrooms, specialized learning spaces, improved staff facilities, and enhanced safety systems.
Once the project is 100% completed, the school will help students get access to a more conducive learning environment. Teachers of the school will also be able to work in better, modernised facilities. The school will also serve as a valuable community space for Molineux and surrounding areas.
