The Charles E Mills Secondary School has won the national title in TDC Interschool Championships 2026. for 29th time this year. The school finished the TDC Interschool Championship with an impressive medal haul of 29 golds, 20 silvers and 25 bronze medals.
The championship was held for three days from Friday 20 March to Sunday 22, March 2026. The event was held at the newly renovated Kim Collins Athletic Stadium in the Bird Rock area of Basseterre. The eagles maintained and showcased their dominance in track and field events of the championship.
The athletes of the Charles E Mills Secondary School (Eagles) left their mark the championship by winning the final event of the season, the 4×400 Relay. Their performance in the championship can also be seen as a remarkable achievement, highlighting the athletes’ consistency and excellence in the events.
The final event 4×400 Relay was crucial for “Eagles” to win because the Charlestown Secondary School, which came second in the overall tournament, gave a neck to neck competition to them in the TDC Interschool Championships 2026. In the final event, the eagles who ran in the relay performed commendably and secured the first position in the event.
After their victory in the final event they finished at the top of the board. The Charlestown Secondary School secured the second position in the championship with 27 golds, 27 silvers, and 25 bronze medals. Moreover, with 18 golds, 22 silvers, and 12 bronze medals the Verchilds High School secured the third place in the TDC Interschool Championships 2026.
Delwayne Delaney, the President of St. Kitts Athletics mentioned that the outcome of the TDC Interschool Championships 2026 strengthened the Federation’s athletes programme. He praised the efforts of the organisers for making the championship a successful athletic event. He also appreciated athletes, coaches, and administrators for their hard work in the events.
Delaney was even amazed by the high-level competition given by the athletes that he witnessed in the various competitions over the three days of the championship.
Minister of sports Samal Duggins appreciated and congratulated the Charles E Mills Secondary School, the Charlestown Secondary School, and the Verchilds High School. He stated performances by the following schools reflects their hardcore preparation, discipline and establishing a set of standards.
Additionally, in the upcoming Easter weekend the attention is turns to the 2026 CARIFTA Games scheduled for Grenada.
