Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson led a delegation of high level tourism officers to European tourism markets. During the trip to the European continent, Minister Henderson and her team made efforts to increase the presence of St. Kitts and Nevis in global tourism sphere.
The tourism stakeholders of St Kitts and Nevis met stakeholders from across Europe for two days from March 23 and March 24, 2026. During this meeting, Minister of Tourism and her team focussed on forming strong partnerships with travel stakeholders, cruise industry leaders and diaspora communities across the European markets.
The delegation from St. Kitts and Nevis included Melnecia Marshall Deputy CEO of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, and Calvin Duggins Chief Operating Officer of the St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) were present.
During the meetings with cruise partners, tourism stakeholders and diaspora community, Minister Henderson asserted that St Kitts and Nevis is performing extremely well in the international tourism sector. She highlighted the success of the country’s tourism sector.
St Kitts currently sits in the third spot among 18 Caribbean ports for Costa Cruises. This high place reflects that the island is showing significant growth in operational efficiency, port excellence, and visitor satisfaction. Minister of Tourism, Marsha Hendrson also added that St Kitts and Nevis will remain focused on strengthening their role as turnaround port and will continue executing a holistic development strategy.
According to officials, the meetings with stakeholders across Europe gave them the opportunity to discuss the development of long-term partnerships, new chances for growth, and expanded capacity for cruise calls.
The partnership between St. Kitts and European can help in realising the vision of St Kitts and Nevis of becoming a turnaround or homeport destination.
If a partnership between Europe and St Kitts goes forward, the cruise passengers will have to travel to St Kitts to board their cruise ships. The voyage will also end on the shores of St Kitts. Such an arrangement will lead to a significant increase in airlift. The people coming on the island are also expected to stay longer. The small and medium sized businesses will also be supported in this mandate
