The Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew and Nevis visited the site of the reconstruction of the Joshua Obadiah Primary School. The school is being rehabilitated after it was destroyed by a fire in March 2022.
The school had been in serious need of rehabilitation and reconstruction for the students to take advantage of the facility. The Prime Minister and his team have also taken several other school rehabilitation projects.
The construction is being done under the National School Rehabilitation and Upgrade Programme. The officials have shared that the project is going at a satisfactory rate.
The construction of the Joshua Obadiah Primary School is a long awaited project for the government. is delivering as a priority project. Dr Drew was visiting the construction site with a delegation of Ambassadors, Ministers and officials.
The community has been waiting for the construction of the Joshua Obadiah Primary School for several months. The construction of the school has been having a positive impact on the economy of the country.
Notably, the people of the country can get employment and job opportunities in the construction phase. The residents are being employed as the majority of the workforce in the project.
The Prime Minister has shared an update regarding the construction process of the school in his national address last month. PM Terrance Drew visited the construction site as a part of his community outreach initiative, on Friday August 1.
The Minister of Education also visited the site of the construction along with Dr Terrance Drew. He was accompanied by Ambassador Leon Natta-Nelson, and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education Lisa Pistana.
The delegation, along with Minister Hanley also expressed his satisfaction with the quality and speed of the ongoing work. The Prime Minister said that he was delighted to see the positive impact that the project will have on the community.
Dr Terrance Drew also took the time to visit other development projects on Friday.
