Barbados registers 7,232 total number of active COVID-19 cases. 167 cases have been reported in last 24 hrs those are also added in the previous active cases. This indicates the increasing rate of positivity on the island.
There are 857 citizens under isolation in Barbados according to the new COVID-19 updation on island. Total 304,765 people have been tested by the medical teams and health care teams on the island. Out of the total test taken 7,232 people were reported positive those were further divided into 3,655 were female, and 3,577 were male. In last 24 hrs. the government have tested 2,081 people on island for COVID-19.
In Barbados total 130,046 citizens have been partially vaccinated with one dose of vaccine. On the other hand 100,802 Barbadians have been fully vaccinated and achieved complete herd immunity. According to the present time. 37.2% population have been fully vaccinated.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Immunization Unit had recommended the citizens who are not vaccinated that first doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine are available at all operating vaccination centres.
To combat COVID-19, Barbados has received 33,600 doses of Oxford Astra Zeneca vaccines under the COVAX facility from PAHO.

Few days before during the national address, Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Amor Motley announced that the curfew would extend in Barbados. The government also decided to allow the person for home isolation under the new home isolation policy.
