Barbados registers 5,486 total number of active COVID-19 cases. 69 cases have been reported in last 24 hrs those are also added in the previous active cases. This indicates the increasing rate of positivity on the island.
There are 569 citizens under isolation in Barbados according to the new COVID-19 updation on island. Total 2,75,511 people have been tested by the medical teams and health care teams on the island. Out of the total test taken 5,486 people were reported positive those were further divided into 2,719 were female, and 2,767 were male. In last 24 hrs. the government have tested 1,303 people on island for COVID-19.
In Barbados total 116,546 citizens have been partially vaccinated with one dose of vaccine. On the other hand 95,661 Barbadians have been fully vaccinated and achieved complete herd immunity. According to the present time. 35.3% population have been fully vaccinated.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Immunization Unit had recommended the citizens who are not vaccinated that first doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine are available at all operating vaccination centres.
To combat COVID-19, Barbados has received 33,600 doses of Oxford Astra Zeneca vaccines under the COVAX facility from PAHO.
As Barbados received another batch of AstraZeneca vaccines in its “arsenal” to fight the virus, .
New sites for vaccination in Barbados:
on Wednesday, September 8: Harrison College; Princess Margaret Secondary School; the Christ Church Parish Church Hall; Sharon Moravian Church Hall, and the Tamarind Hall Library at the Eric Holder Complex.
The non-school sites will be: Building No.2 Harbour Industrial Park, the Eunice Gibson Polyclinic, the Winston Scott Polyclinic, and the Masonic Centre.
On Thursday, September 9, Harrison College, Princess Margaret Secondary School; Christ Church Parish Church Hall; Sharon Moravian Church Hall, and Alexandra School, Queen’s Street, St. Peter, are the school sites that will be operational.
The non-school sites will be Building No.2 Harbour Industrial Park, the Winston Scott Polyclinic, and the Masonic Centre.
