The Prime Minister has extended his support to the Minister of Tourism Marsha Henderson who has been engaged in Our Community Our Pride initiative. The initiative has been surrounded by controversy for the last few weeks.
During his roundup, Prime Minister said that he has been seeing the cleanup drive which has garnered significant support from Central Basseterre. The Prime Minister has shared that he was most disheartened to see the way some political players have been treating the Minister.
The Prime Minister applauded the Minister for the work which she has been doing in order to beautify Central Basseterre. At the same time, he highlighted that he has also been seeing the political actors acting way out of character.
While speaking to the media during the November 25 interaction, the Prime Minister urged the people to participate in the cleanup campaign. He said that instead of acting in a negative manner, people should instead join the campaign and support the Minister in cleaning up Central Basseterre.
Talking about the negativity which he has been witnessing in connection with the Minister’s clean up campaign, he expressed regret. At the same time, he appreciated the Minister for her reaction and maturity in dealing with the situation.
Dr Drew said that he was delighted to see that despite coming under attack from the political opposition, Minister Henderson has continued to work for her community. Dr Drew said that he has seen the murals and the paintings which have been completed in the various locations across Central Basseterre and said that they are excellent.
The Prime Minister asserted that Minister Marsha Henderson has the full support of the Labour Government, and the country. He urged the Minister to not get deterred by the actions of the politics and continue to work for the people of Central Basseterre
