St Kitts has been recognized as a premier dive destination by the 2026 Scuba Diving Readers’ Choice Awards. The island received six awards after votes came in from the magazine’s dedicated readers from all over the world.

St Kitts was named among top ten in the Best Value Category. The island was also named one of the best in – Big Animals, Wreck Diving, Health of Marine Environment, Macro Life and the Beginner Diving categories.

As a small island nation and the smallest sovereign state of the western hemisphere, the recognition of St Kitts at this international platform is a matter of pride. The applause that the island has been given for their excellence in diving will also drive more dive enthusiasts to the shores of St Kitts.

The St Kitts Tourism Authority has expressed their delight on witnessing that the island was recognized for their dive offerings. As a small island nation which draws a lot of their revenue from tourism, this international recognition is a positive development.

The six awards indicate that the country is progressing in the right direction and continues to show growth in this sector. The Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson also expressed her delight. In a statement which was recorded by Kittitian Heartbeat, the official Tourism Page of St Kitts and Nevis, Minister Henderson said,

This is a clear validation of the our unwavering commitment to preserving the pristine beauty of our marine environment. Further in her remarks, the Minister of Tourism said that they are dedicated towards giving the best value to the diving enthusiasts who want to visit the island.

The Minister was proud to see that St Kitts was named among the best in so many diverse catagories. She mentioned that the credit for this achievement and honor belongs to all the dive operators, marine stakeholders and ctizens who have worked hard to preserve and protect the marine resources of the country.
